A Fair to Remember

This weekend we attended the Tech/BU game at Cotton Bowl Stadium at Fair Park. It was a close game...too close but Tech pulled out the W. We met up with a group of friends before the game and had a great time catching up and trying all the fair food. After some breakfast burritos and Fletchers Corndogs, we made our way into the stadium.



The game got a little intense before half time, so I had to break away from the Baylor crew (including my husband, BU Alum) during the 3rd QTR and go walk around the fair with the Tech crew. We walked 500 miles until we found the coveted fried cookie dough. A-mazing! It was so worth it!!!



After the Tech/BU game, we went to Top Golf to watch the Rangers game and squeeze in some dinner and golf.


And as if we had not had enough football for one day, our friends Matt and Shel had a hook up to get into the SMU game. After a tour of the equipment/locker room area, we ended up sideline no doubt and I got a free SMU t-shirt! What a fun evening and SMU won! Thanks Matt and Shel! We had a blast!

A Whirlwind Kind of Weekend

We had a non-stop weekend this past Friday-Monday. Once we were fininshed with one thing, we were on to the next without taking a breath!

Friday night we met the normal TX/OU clan at Primo's for dinner and slipped on over to the Quarter bar for some cocktails and games! Such a good time. Since we missed out on the Michael Jackson coverband last year, we convinced ourselves to go see an 80's coverband, Poision Cheery at the Wizzard. Yikes! This band was out of control and so were the patrons at the Wizzard.

After that crazy night, we headed down to the TX/OU game at the fair. We met up with Austin's boss and wife and had a great time at the game, despite the loss. It was tragic!




We caught an early flight to Denver Sunday morning for our good friend, Dave's wedding. We checked into our hotel downtown and hit the patio scene at the Sports Column to watch some Sunday afternoon football and grab a bite to eat. We went back to our hotel to get ready and drove to Littleton for the wedding at The Manor House. It was a perfect outdoor wedding and the scenery was just gorgeous. They couldn't have planned it better!

The Manor House was stunning! It was neat to learn about all the history and catch up with friends at the wedding.









We took off from work on Monday and drove out to Boulder to check out the sights and each lunch before our flight back to the DFDub. Boulder was beautiful and we had a wonderful time exploring this great city!

Samar

Last night we ventured downtown to try Samar by Stephan Pyles. It was pure perfection and it was fun trying all the tapas from India, Spain and the East Mediterranean. Loved the ambiance, loved the food, loved the company! Cant wait for next month!

Girls Weekend vs. Boys Weekend

I have definitely enjoyed my mom's visits to Dallas since she retired. I thought it would be fun to have mom and grandmom come to Dallas for a girls weekend while the boys went hunting. We had a great time visitng and getting out in Dallas. We lunched at Village Burger Bar, went to see The Town, which was pretty decent, watched the game, shopped and shopped and brunched at Breadwinners.

Meanwhile....

Austin went hunting and fishing with my dad, brother-in-law and dad's buddies.

They fished for bass with their new fly rods; fried and ate the fish they caught.

They shot their firearms, went dove hunting and made several attempts to shoot hogs but the hogs were MIA.




Miss Belle missed Austin, but she was a good dog while he was away.


Overall, we all had a great weekend! Boys will be boys!

Full On Double Rainbow

Austin saw a double rainbow on opening day, which provided many laughs for his hunting buddies. If you haven't seen this Youtube, it's pretty hilarious.

It was so good to see these girls a couple of weekends ago before all the chaos and busy schedules of Tech and Longhorn football season consume our lives! We braved the 100+ degree heat and enjoyed dinner on the patio and some margaritas and mudslides courtesy of my dad (the grill-master/bartender of the evening) and his new Margaritaville blender contraption. It was quite the show! Can't wait to see everyone again!
