The Valentine's

We had so much fun at the Valentine wedding this weekend at the Dallas Arboretum! It was so fun to see all of the Theta ladies and catch up and of course dance the night away...Although, I think we don't party quite like we used to, but we tried our best! I completely forgot to bring the camera in for most of the wedding festivities! Hopefully will add more photos soon!

The beautiful bride and me getting ready in the suite at the Magnolia hotel. Katie looked absolutely stunning! Me - barefoot and preggo. I waited until the last possible minute to put on my shoes...

Some of the Thetas at the wedding before the reception

Austin and me at the reception in Rosine Hall. Everything was absolutely beautiful. My favorite was the grilled cheese bar at the reception because that is Katie's go to meal with a Dr Pepper! You could really see her personality come through in all the details.

Congratulations Katie and Andy! KTB -> KTV! Love it!

Babymooning

We had a wonderful time this past weekend in South Padre celebrating Stephen and Diana's wedding. We also threw our "Babymoon" into the wedding mix and stayed a couple more days to enjoy the beach! It is surreal to know that our last little vacay together has passed and I can't travel anymore. But we are so ready for the babe to get here! And Hello Third Trimester!

We arrived midday Thursday and hit the pool to catch some sun before heading out for dinner at the Palm Street Pier Bar and Grill overlooking the ocean. Then walked over to Louies for some drinks and dancing.

Since we have been going non-stop lately with work and life, we decided to get a couples massage on Friday morning. This was Austin's first massage and he really enjoyed it! It was my first prenatal massage and I realized just how bad I was missing out by not have getting one sooner!

After a little relaxation, we met the crew by the pool and had a great time. This body needed some serious Vitamin D.

Later that evening we went to the rehearsal dinner at Louies and partied the night away! Spring Break 2011. Seriously, I havent stayed up that late in a long time... We even went on a little booze cruise after dinner and saw the sights of Laguna Madre. It was beautiful! Just what we needed to escape the hustle and bustle of Dallas. The groom organized two parts to the booze cruise. The first part was relaxing at sunset and the music was all country and oldies since we had some older folks on the boat with us. We re-docked at 11pm just in time to find out that the Mavs won! Then we departed for round 2 of the cruise and I couldn't have prepared myself for what was to come. I have never laughed so hard in my life. We all have some great stories to share from that evening and we ended up back at Louies after the cruise.

Saturday morning we enjoyed some more pool/beach time as if we couldn't get enough! Later that evening we walked down to the beach for the ceremony and it was an amazing view. The bride and groom looked beautiful. After the ceremony we were greeted by a Mariachi Band and had cocktails on the patio and then went to the reception which was beautiful!

What a great weekend!!! Congrats to the Ratliffs!!

A Whirlwind Kind of Weekend

We had a non-stop weekend this past Friday-Monday. Once we were fininshed with one thing, we were on to the next without taking a breath!

Friday night we met the normal TX/OU clan at Primo's for dinner and slipped on over to the Quarter bar for some cocktails and games! Such a good time. Since we missed out on the Michael Jackson coverband last year, we convinced ourselves to go see an 80's coverband, Poision Cheery at the Wizzard. Yikes! This band was out of control and so were the patrons at the Wizzard.

Austin and I took out some frustration on the boxing glove. ;)

After that crazy night, we headed down to the TX/OU game at the fair. We met up with Austin's boss and wife and had a great time at the game, despite the loss. It was tragic!

We caught an early flight to Denver Sunday morning for our good friend, Dave's wedding. We checked into our hotel downtown and hit the patio scene at the Sports Column to watch some Sunday afternoon football and grab a bite to eat. We went back to our hotel to get ready and drove to Littleton for the wedding at The Manor House. It was a perfect outdoor wedding and the scenery was just gorgeous. They couldn't have planned it better!

The Manor House was stunning! It was neat to learn about all the history and catch up with friends at the wedding.

We took off from work on Monday and drove out to Boulder to check out the sights and each lunch before our flight back to the DFDub. Boulder was beautiful and we had a wonderful time exploring this great city!

13 Fourths

The Fourth of July is a holiday very dear to our hearts as we have spent every 4th together since 1998. It doesn't matter what we do for the Fourth as long as we spend it together.

We drove to Austin late on Friday night and couldn't wait to go to sleep. Does this mean we are getting old???

I couldn't wait for Saturday! To Austin, it was just another day, for me it was like Christmas! I had a whole morning/afternoon planned with my mom and sister. I am a tad bit obsessed with Twilight. Now I wouldnt say I am a Twihard or whatever they are called, but I could be pretty close to that point. If I didn't have the old 9-5, I probably would have gone to the midnight showing of Eclipse on a Tuesday night and waited in line for 2-3 hours....but I need my sleep.

One of my good friends suggested I read The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner before seeing Eclipse. It recently debuted in the Twilight series and gives some perspective and background story on the "Newborns". Of course, my sister and I downloaded it to the Kindles ASAP and were glad we did! In the middle of working, Junior League volunteering and a house remodel project, I was able to finish in time...

We thought we would have to get to the theatre an hour before the movie started...hahaha we were so wrong!

Mom and I did some serious shopping at the Domain and lunched at Daily Grill. It was such a relaxing time with the girls.

We had to hurry home and get ready for Trae and Cyndi's wedding! Austin and I had a wonderful time! It was lovely and very chic. LC Rocks took it to the next level and it got pretty crazy out on the dance floor!

Some how I always make it on stage, and oddly enough...I had stage fright this time until someone twisted my arm.

It was a great night and we are definitey hanging on to those rockin sun glasses!

Congrats Cyndi and Trae! We had so much fun and it was an amazing wedding!

While trying to recover on the 4th, we spent the day with our families. It was nice to be able to spend time with everyone while we were in Austin and not have a jam packed schedule.

Happy Fourth and looking forward to NO. 14!

A Wedding Divided

This past weekend we attended our good friends, Shelley and Matt's wedding. The majority of the wedding weekend was centered around UT and Texas TECH and of course Shelley and Matt. Shelley is a devoted Red Raider and Matt is a football manager for the Horns. It might be a mystery to some how Matt and Shel survive football season year after year, but somehow they make it work.

The wedding weekend kicked off with the bridal brunch at Iguana Grill which overlooks Lake Travis. The view was amazing and it was so nice to see the lake so full and healthy.

After brunch, some members of the bridal party went to check out Lakeway Spa and Resort where the ceremony and reception were held and hung out by the pool before the rehearsal dinner. It is the perfect getaway resort even if you live in Austin.

After catching some rays and the rehearsal, we headed to the rehearsal dinner at the UT Club, which had a super cute "Tailgate" theme with sliders, fries, banana pudding and the works.

We were so excited to see Matt and Shell's engagement pics on the jumbo-tron at the stadium!!!

Mac Brown even made a video appearance and gave his congrats and best wishes to the bride and groom! As if that wasn't enough to make any longhorn fan freak out, Bevo made a guest appearance as well.

After we finished dinner, Matt's parents and the hosts for the evening, invited us down to the field to take pictures.

The wedding was absolutely beautiful as the groomsmen wore orange ties and the reception was colorfully decorated with bright pink feathers, purple lights and more orange of course! It look stunning and you could see all of Shelley and Matt's personal touches which made the wedding more special.

This is normally where I would insert a picture of Austin and me at the wedding, but Austin got a little too sunburned at the lake all day....well here it is anyway...ha!

The food was amazing, the party was fab and everyone had a wonderful time!!! Congrats to the Rutherfords!!!
