Our Newest Addition
We wanted to share with you the latest additions to our family these past couple of weeks. These two dove hatched a few weeks ago in our garage. Austin has named them Lunch and Dinner and boy do they grow up fast! I read online that the daddy dove raises the babies while the mother starts a new clutch. The daddy pushes the babies out of the nest to teach them "the ways of the world". I did check the ground below to make sure they didnt fall!

13 Fourths
The Fourth of July is a holiday very dear to our hearts as we have spent every 4th together since 1998. It doesn't matter what we do for the Fourth as long as we spend it together.
We drove to Austin late on Friday night and couldn't wait to go to sleep. Does this mean we are getting old???
I couldn't wait for Saturday! To Austin, it was just another day, for me it was like Christmas! I had a whole morning/afternoon planned with my mom and sister. I am a tad bit obsessed with Twilight. Now I wouldnt say I am a Twihard or whatever they are called, but I could be pretty close to that point. If I didn't have the old 9-5, I probably would have gone to the midnight showing of Eclipse on a Tuesday night and waited in line for 2-3 hours....but I need my sleep.
One of my good friends suggested I read The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner before seeing Eclipse. It recently debuted in the Twilight series and gives some perspective and background story on the "Newborns". Of course, my sister and I downloaded it to the Kindles ASAP and were glad we did! In the middle of working, Junior League volunteering and a house remodel project, I was able to finish in time...
We thought we would have to get to the theatre an hour before the movie started...hahaha we were so wrong!

Mom and I did some serious shopping at the Domain and lunched at Daily Grill. It was such a relaxing time with the girls.
We had to hurry home and get ready for Trae and Cyndi's wedding! Austin and I had a wonderful time! It was lovely and very chic. LC Rocks took it to the next level and it got pretty crazy out on the dance floor!

Some how I always make it on stage, and oddly enough...I had stage fright this time until someone twisted my arm.

It was a great night and we are definitey hanging on to those rockin sun glasses!

Congrats Cyndi and Trae! We had so much fun and it was an amazing wedding!

While trying to recover on the 4th, we spent the day with our families. It was nice to be able to spend time with everyone while we were in Austin and not have a jam packed schedule.
Happy Fourth and looking forward to NO. 14!

Some call it "The Hamptons of the South"
This girl's trip was long over due! I'm so glad to have been able to spend a wonderful weekend with some old friends in Port A! What an amazing trip!
Friday night I flew to Corpus and met my friends Adrienne, Shelly and Emily for dinner at the Waterstreet Oyster Bar. It was so nice to see them and trade stories over dinner! A great start to the weekend!

The three girls together again! It's been a while!

We left the restaurant pretty late and headed back to Adi's beach house for some wine on the porch and a late night dip in the pool. BWB III- hahaha!
Our digs for the weekend (Vicky - the house looks A-MAZING!)

On Saturday morning we had a great brunch at a local Mexican restuarant in Port A and then did a little shopping. We went to a store called A Mano that the locals call the "Laura Bush Store" because she stopped by to shop one time. We headed next door and found an adorable boutique!
I really wanted to buy this hat, but didn't think it would travel too well on a full flight...:(

After our shopping adventures, we headed to the beach. It was a gorgeous day and we had such a great time catching up and gossiping...you know...girl talk.
This was a beautiful house we saw on our walk to the beach

Headed up the boardwalk and we made it to the top!

We had a lovely dinner at Lisabella's. Fresh crab cakes with mango salsa, lobster enchiladas and delicious scallops. And of course a fight over a decadent piece of chocolate cake!

Thanks for hosting Adi! I had such a great time and can't wait until next year!

Last Minute Getaway
A couple of weekends ago, Austin was Vegas-bound for a bachelor party and I met some Theta sisters in Houston. It was so random how we all ended up there the same weekend but we had an absolute blast! I haven't visited H-Town in quite some time. A couple of my sorority sisters live in Houston so I was excited for them to show us around the town!
It was wheels down after a slight flight delay and I was on my way to meet some of the girls at the BRC which was really good...at least the wine was anyway! I loved the decor! I am not really sure what BRC stands for...I think I was too late to get in on the joke, but we had a great time at dinner!

We stopped by the OWL which I didn't know was the OWL until after we left. I thought we were somewhere else!?! We are fun!

After brunching at the Buffalo Grille and catching some rays at the pool all day, it was on to El Tiempo for another night out on the town! Cheers!

And some non-stop dancing at the Black Swan. We loved the 80's jams and the early 90's were out of this world..."It's Black, It's White" and "Ooh" "Yeah"
Before we took the party to the dance floor

It was a great weekend with some fabulous girl friends and the perfect escape for a short getaway weekend! Cant wait to get together again!! On the drive back to Big D, I took to being a tourist of the great city of Houston and snapped my first and only shot of the Sam Houston statue. I thought it was fun! Until next time....

Memorial Day Wknd
If it seems like we are in Austin all the time....we are....the Cam is taking it like a champ, especially this past month - two weddings and Memorial Day weekend! We are tearing up 35, but it's worth it! And as always, we had such a great weekend with family and friends. We started out at Abel's on the lake and were just in time for their soft opening of the upper deck. It is such a great venue and the perfect space to rent out for a party.

Jim and Melissa took us out on their boat and we parked in a party cove on Lake Travis. It was a fun group of people to hang with.

We enjoyed grilling out with the fam.....shrimp, steak and chicken kabobs! It was delish! Austin was focused on the grill.

We also tested out the new fire pit! I can't wait to make some smores this winter!

It was a wonderful weekend and most importantly.... to remember this weekend as it commemorates the members of the United States armed forces who were killed in war, honoring our veterans and those currently serving to keep us safe. This is to my great grandfather, our grandfathers, my Uncle Buddy and my Daddy-O! God Bless!

She's Done!!
We went down to Austin to celebrate my mom's retirement! After 26 years of teaching at North Oaks (now known as Caraway Elementary), she's finally done! I got the camera out (post Dom/celebrating)so there arent too many pics.....

Now that she's retired she plans to travel, learn Spanish, take yoga classes and come to Dallas to visit often! Way to Go Mom!
